Our First Look At THE WALKING DEAD TV Series!

Hands down, one of the TV series which I’m most looking forward to this fall is AMC’s adaptation of The Walking Dead.

Based on the amazing zombie comic by Robert Kirkman (also responsible for Invincible) and adapted by Frank Darabont (The Mist), The Walking Dead is set to premiere on AMC this October.

With a near flawless track record of original programing including Mad Men and Breaking Bad, AMC is stepping into the difficult realm of comic adaptation and horror with their latest series, but these first stills, all of the “Walkers” (what the undead are called in the series) give me hope.

As tweeted out just moments ago by Kirkman himself, these images showcase some stunning makeup work, underlining that they are sparing no expense. They even got the Tony Moore blood splatters right!

Now, let’s see some stills of the heroes, yes?

    Frank Darabont(The Mist)? Really?

At least give him a “Frank Darabont (The guy who spent two years writing the Indiana Jones script that Stephen Spielberg called the best script he’d ever read, but Lucas didn’t really care for and decided to make up a story off the top of his head and have some hack ghostwrite for him).”

I went for most recent/relevant project in the reference, man.

If I was going to write his true hit list…gosh, that’d be a longer parenthetical.
