Burger King Testing Reusable Containers To Cut Down On Packaging Waste - Chew Boom:

Burger King is partnering with TerraCycle’s circular packaging service, Loop, to pilot a closed-loop system with zero-waste packaging that can be safely cleaned and refilled to be reused, again and again.

As part of the pilot, fans will be offered the option to reduce waste when ordering their favorite Burger King signature menu items like Whopper sandwiches, soft drinks or coffee in reusable sandwich containers or beverage cups.

Fascinating idea in theory, but I’m not sure how well it would work in practice.

I don’t know about your local BK, but my Whopper’s always end up a sloppy, mayo-and-lettuce-fueled mess. I can’t imagine cleaning those packages would be nice.

Maybe we just move forward with, I dunno, plates?
