Prometheus, the Ridley Scott directed non-prequel to Alien hits theaters today across the globe and next Friday, the 8th, here in the United States.

However, you can pre-order the blu-ray today on Amazon.com.  And not only can you pre-order it in both 2D and 3D versions, if you’re one of the first 5,000 people to pre-order, you get a free admission to the theater!

This is kinda crazy. While not a first (there was a similar promotion with Men in Black 3 last week), I can’t say I expected this to become a norm.

Currently, you can pre-order the 2D Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy Combo Pack for $27.99, or the 3D Blu-Ray + 2D Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy Combo Pack for $34.99. Amazon’s pre-order price guarantee is in full effect, so if Amazon drops the price between now and the release date (rumored to be October 9th), you get the savings.

Personally, I’m a little hesitant on pulling the trigger so early, but if you’re willing to be the early bird, they’re sure to give you something nice for it.
