Of the many CG animation studios this days, I'm decidedly within the Pixar camp.  That said, Dreamworks Animation has, on the rare occassion, produced a movie or two which I've actually enjoyed.

The latest to look like it may actually be good is this November’s Megamind. The tale of Will Ferrell as the titular supervillain, it turns the standard Superman mythos on it’s head, and as this trailer reveals, asks the question - what happens when the villain wins?

Normally, I’d be worried that they’re revealing so much footage so early, but aside from the rather terrible soundtrack choices, Megamind really is starting to look great. I love the idea of Ferrell, David Cross, Tina Fey and Jonah Hill playing off each other, and the Marlon Brando impression right at the end tells me that the creative team really “gets” what they’re doing.

So yes, Megamind, I think I will be seeing you.  I won’t be paying to see you in 3D, though.
