Ask yourself something.  On the most basic of premises, would you be interested in seeing a movie about rival ballerinas?

Answer: Probably not.  The sheer idea alone reeks of straight to DVD or low-budgeted films that are one part Bring It On homage and one part teenybopper crap.

Now what if I told you Darren Aronofsky was working on a movie about rival ballerinas?

And that they weren’t just rival ballerinas, but the rival may be an imagined version of the ballerina herself?

And they were played by Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis?

Sounds pretty interesting, right?

That’s the idea behind Black Swan.  The flick has been talked about in Hollywood circles for some time, and if the linked to script review is any indication, it sounds like a slow burn psychological thriller, built around dance.

And hey, if that doesn’t sell you….how about this?

“In this movie, Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis have sex…And not just nice sweet innocent sex either. We’re talking ecstasy-induced hungry aggressive angry sex.“

Yeah, I thought that grabbed your attention.

Filming on Black Swan is scheduled to start this fall in New York City.
