We’ve been stung by Wolverine.

We’ve been awed by Star Trek.

Up next, of course, is the memorial day push for the 4th Terminator Film…Terminator Salvation.

And to get your blood pumping, Warner Bros has released a FOUR MINUTE LONG preview for the McG helmed, Christian Bale starring Robot War flick.  Ultimately, it reminds me a lot of the sizzle reel we saw at New York Comic Con last February, except for the effects are finished. This is also where I point out that this movie has affirmed my Bryce Dallas Howard crush.

Not surprisingly, the press junket for the film is occurring now, and in it, McG’s been quite the chatty cathy.  In addition to revealing that there’s roughly 40 minutes of deleted footage (come on Blu-Ray!), he spoke about the original, extremely dark ending for the film.

I’m not sure if this was filmed (it’d make a great disc extra), but here’s what was supposed to happen. Spoiler alerts on high, even though it’s NOT the ending.

Sayeth McG….

That was at a time when there was a very dark ending. There was a great irony in the way this film shook down. There was this leak that Connor dies and they put Connor’s face on top of the machine body of Marcus. Everybody went, “Booooooo, what’s that?” That’s half of it [the ending]. We had a jet-black ending. Connor dies, we’re in a room with all the people we care about. You take Connor’s likeness, you put it on the living machine of Marcus. He sits up, now looking like Christian Bale, takes a gun, kills Kate, kills Kyle, kills Star, kills everybody, eyes flare red, [snaps] the end.

Man! That would’ve kinda RULED!
