The Vaguest Of First Looks At TINTIN!

See that above?

Beneath that large watermark from the fine folks at Empire Magazine, that’s your first look at the future of cinema.

It shows the filming of Tintin, co-directed by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, as the titanic directors give cues to Tintin (Jamie Bell) and Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis).

The movie is employing INTENSE use of motion capturing, so by the time the flick hits screens in 2011, it won’t look at all like two dudes in jumpsuits, but instead, a fully realized cgi version of the comic classic.

Between movies like this, and James Cameron’s Avatar, the movie world is moving more from the expensive and lengthy process of building, forming and filming, and more to creating virtual worlds around exisiting actors, and it should be interesting to see the results.  The movie just wrapped filming (in 32 days!), and I can’t wait to see how it looks once all the bells and whistles are applied.

The Appleseed Cast: My Favorite Band, Ever.

Watch the full concert at baeblemusic.com

I think it’s safe to say, I can be best described as a music snob.  I hold my opinons in music in high regard, I take the listening to music and ranking of albums far too seriously, and I’m constantly in search of the next best thing.

But one band, from the first note I heard of theirs, had me totally enchanted.  That band was The Appleseed Cast.  Now, something like 7 albums, and as many years later, I got to see them live for the second time last night at Sonar here in Baltimore.

Simply put, it was a stunning show.  As a treat, I’ve embedded a live performance of theirs from 2007, in full so you can get a taste of just how awesome they are.

Thanks to Ghostfreehood for the heads up on the link, and the hook up on tickets last night.
