Nerf Brings the Foam Ball Guns You’ve Always Wanted: The Hyper Line

Nerf reveals Hyper, its next-gen high capacity blasters with the fastest reloads ever – The Verge:

Nerf maker Hasbro has heard you loud and clear, Adam Savages of the world: you want to be able to shoot foam projectiles for days, without carrying around a belt full of magazines or constantly stooping down to reload.

Today, the company’s announcing Nerf Hyper, a new line of blasters that not only shoots harder (up to 110 feet per second) than any stock blaster but also features the company’s fastest reloads yet, thanks to a smaller foam projectile that takes up so little space, you can fit 40 of them inside a pistol-sized blaster. That’s unheard of in Nerf. You can clip on (or carry around) 50 or 100 round canisters to quickly top them up, much like a paintball gun.

This is amazing. Time to shoot my friends really hard.*

*once we’ve all been vaccinated and feel comfortable being physically around each other, so probably 2022-ish?

Daft Punk Calls It Quits

Daft Punk Break Up | Pitchfork:

Daft Punk, the Parisian duo responsible for some of the most popular dance and pop songs ever made, have split. They broke the news with an 8-minute video titled “Epilogue,” excerpted from their 2006 film Electroma. Asked if Daft Punk were no more, their longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news to Pitchfork but gave no reason for the breakup.

An absolute heartbreaker for a Monday morning.

Here’s the announcement video.

I’ve got a lot of feelings about this, as Daft Punk as an act always seemed to match my tastes both musically and visually.

While I process those thoughts, I’m going to share Interstella 5555, which I’ve always thought was their magnum opus, matching their amazing album Discovery with 70’ throwback animation.

The R-Rated MORTAL KOMBAT Reboot Trailer Has Arrived

MMA fighter Cole Young (Lewis Tan) is unaware of his heritage – or why Outworld’s Emperor seeks to hunt him down. Cole finds sanctuary under Lord Raiden (Tadanobu Asano) and prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high-stakes battle for the universe. Will Cole be able to unleash his arcana in time to stop the Outworld once and for all?

This looks super fun. Considering it hits HBO Max in April, I will absolutely give it a spin.
