Amazon Releases First Trailer for TALES FROM THE LOOP

It’s amazing how well they converted Simon Stålenhag’s visual aesthetic to a series.

But will the scripts match up? We’ll find out April 3, 2020.

Spielberg No Longer Directing INDIANA JONES 5, James Mangold Rumored to Direct

Variety:

After a long development process, Steven Spielberg is handing the directing reins on “Indiana Jones 5” to another filmmaker for the first time in the franchise’s 39-year history, Variety has learned.

Sources say that while a deal hasn’t closed, “Ford v Ferrari” director James Mangold is in talks to take the job. Mangold has been put in this situation before when he took over the “Wolverine” franchise; 2017’s “Logan” was a blockbuster, grossing $619 million globally, and earning Mangold an Oscar nomination for adapted screenplay.

Spielberg will remain as a hands-on producer on “Indy 5.” According to a source close to the filmmaker, the decision to leave the director’s chair was entirely Spielberg’s, in a desire to pass along Indy’s whip to a new generation to bring their perspective to the story.

Or, alternatively, they could just not make the movie?

I love Mangold’s work, but, we just don’t need another Indy.

Harmonix is BACK, with FUSER

Announced today, the creator of Rock Band and Dance Central is returning with a new music game which seems to be all about mashups and music festival culture – Fuser.

When I first heard about this, my thought – like others – was, “Isn’t this what DJ Hero was supposed to be?”, but it seems based on this gameplay video, that it’s more about making mashups and perfecting timing.

The official website is here, and the game is scheduled to hit this Fall.

If nothing else, I look forward to keeping an eye on it and seeing how it progresses.

UGLY DELICIOUS 2 to FINALLY Arrive on Netflix, March 6

I unabashedly love this era of Anthony Bourdain-inspired food travel shows.

Whether The Chef Show, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or the original Ugly Delicious, there’s something I truly admire about these shows which somehow balance the celebration of food as an art, but also break down the cultural barriers of “high end” and “low end” dining.

I truly believe the world is a better place when we can say – confidently – that the finest cut of meat at the best restaurant can be held in a similar regard to a warm pepperoni slice at a mom ’n pop pizza shop. That’s the sweet spot, folks, for any type of “art”. Culinary, creative, otherwise – let it all flow together into one great world of appreciation.

Ugly Delicious 2 hits Netflix on March 6, 2020.

Jif Peanut Butter and Giphy Collide to Settle the ‘Gif’ Debate

Amazon.com

The debate over how to pronounce GIF has been raging for too long. Hard G or Soft G? “Gif” or “Jif?” If only there was a co-branded, limited edition jar of edible education to finally set the record straight. A collaboration between two titans of pronunciation that unequivocally declares, “Jif is peanut butter, GIFs are animations.” This is your lucky day, and this is that jar.

Yep, it’s a $10 jar of Peanut Butter to end a pedantic internet debate. That’s where we’re at now, folks.
