With Rogue One: A Star Wars Story looking so good, you knew there had to be a setback. And that setback is a delay of Godzilla 2, the sequel to director Gareth Edwards' tremendous reinvention of the terrible thunderlizard for the 21st century.

Edwards' sequel - which is sure to be re-titled from Godzilla 2  - is now set for a March 22, 2019 release, 9 months after its original June 2018 release date.

The bonus? We won’t have to wait long to see the Big G collide with King Kong, as Godzilla vs. Kong (featuring the Kong from 2017’s Kong: Skull Island) is now set for May 29, 2020.

I really dug Godzilla when it came out, but I have to admit - I did not expect for it to kick off a full “giant monster” universe at Warner Bros.

The real shame? Warner Bros losing Pacific Rim 2 to Universal, meaning it is unlikely that we’ll ever see the Jaegers collide with these classic icons.

Guess that clash will just have to remain the battle of my dreams.
