Earlier today, Funko announced the latest addition to their incredibly popular Pop! Vinyl figure lineScott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Based on the Edgar Wright-directed film (and not the Bryan Lee O’Malley comic series), we’ll be seeing figures of Michael Cera’s Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Ramona Flowers, and Ellen Wong’s Knives Chau.

The designs are accurate to the movie - although I question the choice of Scott’s outfit, as I think of him more in his Plumtree or Smashing Pumpkin’s shirt (or some variant thereof), than the button-down from the party where he meets Ramona. The drawing of Ramona clutched in his little hand is a nice touch, though.

On paper, these figures should be an absolute layup for me. I have quite a few Pop! Vinyl figures, and I absolutely love Scott Pilgrim (having recently dubbed it my favorite comic movie of all time on the Super Art Fight podcast).

…yet, they leave me cold. Something feels off about them for me.

Maybe I’ll like them more when I see them in person, but until then, I’ll be lusting over Mondo’s Ramona Flowers figure they unveiled at San Diego Comic Con last year, with no further details announced at this time.
