On Pause For A Bit…

Hey guys! This week, I’m moving into a new apartment, which means my non-work hours are pretty much going to be packed…while packing.

In turn, Blast-O-Rama is gonna go quiet for about a week or so.

Be back as soon as I can, guys! Thanks!

The ‘Deadpool’ Movie Finally Is Moving Forward

Let it be known that sometimes, illegally leaking footage* to the Internet leads to good things.

After fans worldwide went nutty over leaked test footage for a Deadpool movie last July, it certainly seems like film executives were listening.

Why? Fox has announced that on February 12, 2016, a Deadpool movie will finally be released.

Director Tim Miller (who was involved with said footage) is still attached to the movie, while rumored star Ryan Reynolds – and the hoped for R rating – have yet to be confirmed.

Stay tuned, this one could get interesting.

* Let us now indulge the conspiracy theorists that say that Fox planned a leak of this footage to build hype for this film.

Amazon’s New Kindle Voyage Sure Is Purdy

Guys, I love my Kindle Paperwhite.

I probably don’t read on it nearly enough, but hands down, it’s the best E-Reader I’ve ever used.

Battery for days, a great backlight system, easy to read E-Ink screen…

…but what if they decided to make one even better?

I’m not really sure if it’s worth $200, but Amazon’s new Kindle Voyage is their attempt to perfect the E-Reader.

It’s got a higher resolution screen, it’s thinner and lighter than ever, easier “page presses”, an adaptive front light – hell, the screen has even been textured to feel like paper.

If you’re willing to pay the $80 difference, and really love to read – The Kindle Voyage may be the E-Reader for you.

Two Brand New ‘Interstellar’ Posters Take Us To The Stars

Hands down, my most anticipated film for the Fall is Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.

Discuss the pros and cons of The Dark Knight Rises all you like (I’d be the first to admit it hasn’t aged great), there are few large scale filmmakers quite like him anymore, and to see his epic sized filmmaking imbued with a sense of urgency and optimism with the galaxy spanning Interstellar has me chomping at the bit to see more.

These new posters certainly don’t help.

The first (above), subverts the view we had of the official one-sheet, this time planting Matthew McConaughey’s Cooper firmly on Earth, gazing above.

The second (below), however, truly unleashes the scale of the film, with a look at a beautiful cosmic event.

I truly hope Interstellar is as beautiful as the trailers have made it feel. I’ll be sure to make the efforts to see it on as large a screen as I can.

Interstellar hits theaters November 7.
