Many times, that just isn’t true.  It’s easy from where we sit to play armchair quarterback in the decisions made in all of our biggest interests, whether it’s music, movies, politics, comics or whatever else we obsess over.

That said, for me, there are few things more enjoyable to read or look over than when a true talent shows a proper eye for re-creation. Tearing something down and rebuilding it to something new, yet which is true to the source.

That’s why I like blogs like Project Rooftop, which showcases dozens of artist’s redesigns for different comic characters.  And it’s why I’m writing about the work of Aaron Diaz today.

Mr. Diaz is better known as the creator of the stylish and hyper detailed webcomic Dresden Codak, but on his Tumblr page, he’s taken the time to toss around some ideas for some redesigns and reinterpretations of different classic comic heroes.

However, he just posted his ideas for a new take on X-Men, and I really really felt that I had to share it.  You can check out the full post at the source link, but I’ve included his team shot up top, which gives you an idea of the modern look he’s given the team.

Some concepts are radical, but more than any other of his reboot ideas so far, this is one that I really, really want to read (which says a lot, as I loved his Batman ideas).

I hope someone at Marvel is reading this post and considering an offer. Yeah, I know they just did the Season One update (which really was an enjoyable read), but seeing a 6 issue version of this X-Men would be a joy. Check it out.
