One of the things I love in the new, artist-sourced world of geek celebration are when nerd concepts are subtly introduced to existing things.  As opposed to a loud t-shirt that just screams I LIKE STAR WARS, designs are done where if you’re a fan, you’ll get it, but if you’re not, you wouldn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.

It seems that artist Justin Van Genderen certainly is a fan of these concepts too, as he’s just released a series of posters that celebrate major cities, but with a movie geek twist.

So far, Justin has released the following prints:

Los Angeles, for Die Hard.

New York, for Ghostbusters

Chicago, for Road to Perdition (a movie which isn’t celebrated nearly enough, in my eyes)

And, of course, Detroit, for Robocop.

These prints are all currently on sale in Justin’s BigCartel shop, and go for between $35-$40.  As you can see, in the past, he’s created similar prints for the world of Superheroes, and unfortunately many have sold out, so if you like these, you’ll want to act fast. I have to admit, I’m eyeing the Los Angeles and New York prints myself.
