While I’m only 3 episodes into the season, I can say the series has sunk it’s hooks into me, with it’s stylish 60’s look, powerful cinematography, and hypnotic writing.  Apparently AMC thinks it’ll only take one episode to get you hooked, and honestly, I’d agree.

So, thanks to those fine folks over at American Movie Classics, for totally free, here is the pilot episode of Mad Men.

If you dig it, the First Season is on store shelves now in DVD and Blu Ray formats, and Season 2 hits the airwaves on July 27th.

In one of the more surprising comic book movie announcements, the Dark Horse title The Goon, written/drawn/created by the wildly talented Eric Powell, will be hitting the screen in a CG animated film to be helmed by Fight Club’s David Fincher.

You read that right. The man who brought wild tales involving such characters as zombie priests, canniabal hobos, and pie loving skunk apes, will be teaming up with the man behind Panic Room and the adventures of Tyler Durden.  This was announced last night on Powell’s official website, with word following from the Hollywood Reporter, pretty much assuring it’s good to go.

Film goers, get ready for the wacky.

This past Friday night, I had the fantastic opportunity to take in the latest film from Pixar, Wall-E.

2 hours later, my jaw was dropped, my heart a flutter, and I was in awe of the latest creation from the talented team in Cupertino.

To say this is their grand opus would be an understatement.  I honestly believe this is the best Pixar creation thus far (my sentimental favorite remains The Incredibles, but this could change over time), and it leaves you amazed by it’s seamless mix of beautiful animation, an amazing score, well planned plotting, and thought provoking plot.

I know we’re just weeks from what some people are calling the “Godfather II of Comic Book Films” in The Dark Knight, but I honestly have no idea if any movie this year will be able to touch the tale of a robot with one flaw…a personality.

Highest possible recommendation. See it. Now.

Oooh. Looks good. Considering how much I loved Casino Royale, I am amped for this!

This is the strangest story I’ve ever read.

So much so, that I had to read, and RE-READ the story, then check the calendar to make sure today wasn’t April 1st.

I give you….J-STACHE, the animated adventures of John Oates and his mustache!

Seriously.

Here’s just a sampling of a plot…

It will portray Oates opening a new wing of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that focuses on mustachioed musicians.

Suddenly, a dying David Crosby appears and with his last breath warns Oates of a mysterious secret group of mustache wearers bent on killing other mustache wearers. As actor Tom Selleck attempts to escape from the latest murder scene, Oates summons his own mustache with a fist pump that simultaneously changes his clothes from conservative attire to pink pants and white boots.

We’ll probably see a whole series of these spotlighting individual characters, but now we know the full title of the flick is…GI JOE: RISE OF COBRA.

I suppose that explains the lack of Cobra Commander so far…and probably indicates that a franchise is coming (surprise, surprise).

Proving Frank Miller is pushing his range for his adaptation of the Wil Eisner classic The Spirit, these 4 new posters showcase the femme fatales of the film…in Black, White and Red.

…Not at all a Sin City redux, OH NO!

*sigh*  I continue to remain pessimistic about this project, but the image of Scarlett Johannson in Cat Eye glasses kinda makes my man parts all gooey.  (The other ladies showcased are Eva Mendes as Sand Saref, Sarah Paulson as Dr. Ellen Dolan and Jaime King as Lorilei Rox). I’ll say this though.  Having seen a trailer for this flick with The Incredible Hulk last week, the general public doesn’t give a damn about this movie.  Even Hellboy II got more recognition.  You’ve got your work cut out for you, Lion’s Gate!
