This is the strangest story I’ve ever read.
So much so, that I had to read, and RE-READ the story, then check the calendar to make sure today wasn’t April 1st.
I give you….J-STACHE, the animated adventures of John Oates and his mustache!
Seriously.
Here’s just a sampling of a plot…
It will portray Oates opening a new wing of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that focuses on mustachioed musicians.
Suddenly, a dying David Crosby appears and with his last breath warns Oates of a mysterious secret group of mustache wearers bent on killing other mustache wearers. As actor Tom Selleck attempts to escape from the latest murder scene, Oates summons his own mustache with a fist pump that simultaneously changes his clothes from conservative attire to pink pants and white boots.
Check out the story over at Billboard.com for the full details, but seriously…WHAT THE HELL?

With 2 seasons behind (1 good, 1 not so good), Heroes fans are getting all sorts of excited for the 3rd season premiere coming up on September 18th.
While we have zero idea of the context, BlogDowntown.com has a shot of a mural painted for filming, and it’s a doozy…

Leaves one to ask a few questions…
- Is there a new painter? Or have Peter or Sylar retained the painting powers?
- Is the explosion of the planet the new plot?
- Does that explosion look like the infamous “Half-Helix” logo on purpose?
Get your theories ready, as Heroes is due to hit airwaves again in just 3 short months. Let’s hope that they knock this one out of the park.

So currently in Bethlehem, PA, filming is underway on the sequel to Transformers. I’ll try to remain an adult and abstain from calling it “Bayformers” as so many bloggers are apt to do, but never the less…
Since the reveal of a sequel, the nerds have been wondering…what’s it going to be titled? If modern film is any indication, they can’t just call it “Transformers 2″…it needs to be more obtuse, like Return of The Transformers or have a snazzy subtitle.
If this post over at TFormers has any weight….
Transformers II: Revenge of the Fallen
What does it mean? I have no idea. I’m just looking forward to seeing Dwight Schrute tie it up with Starscream, while 15 diffferent sunsets occur in the background.

Yeah, I had to go for the pun.
Just announced today over at Jackson Publick’s livejournal, just in time for the Season 3 premiere of The Venture Brothers, comes one of the coolest ideas ever in the history of TV/cartoon related merch.
I give you….The Venture Brothers Shirt Of The Week Club!
Every week, following the premiere of the latest episode of The Venture Brothers, Astrobase Go! will put a t-shirt on sale, with a design related to that weeks episode, for $22, including shipping.
The first design is up now (a sweet design for the Guild of Calamitous Intent), and there will be one for each episode of Season 3, 13 shirts total.
Are you a huge Venture fan? Astrobase has you covered, as they’re offering a 13 shirt subscription (along with an exclusive Brock Samson Blood Judo shirt) for the low low price of $250.
Me? I think I’ll grab one or two as they appear. Although, the potential for eBay sales is great…hmm…anyone want to go in on a subscription?

For a few years now, I’ve been telling anyone who would listen, that if you loved Hot Fuzz and Shawn of the Dead, you REALLY owe it to yourself to watch Spaced.
Aired on the BBC in 1999 and 2001, running for 2 seven episode seasons, Spaced was the TV show that put Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright on the map, and holds up as one of the finest bits of television programming I’ve had the pleasure of watching. Unfortunately, due to the fact that legal issues held the show up from being released in the US, the only way people could see it was via region 2 DVD, or illegal downloads.
This changes now.

Finally, Spaced hits DVD here in the US on July 22nd. And don’t worry, it’s not some quick cash grab release. Oh no, there’s a SHIT TON of extras. Check it out…
- New exclusive commentary with director Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, Jessica Hynes (nee Stevenson) and guests Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Bill Hader, Matt Stone, Patton Oswalt and Diablo Cody.
- Exclusive Spaced On Stage reunion Q&A recorded at the National Film Theatre, London in October 2007.
- “Skip to the End” - Exclusive feature length documentary
- “Spaced Jam” by Osymyso
- Outtakes
- Trailers
- Deleted scenes
- Raw footage
- Photo gallery
- Homage-O-Meter - An onscreen feature that tracks each pop-culture reference
- Newly updated cast and crew biographies
Now you have no excuse. July 22nd. Be there. Hell, I own the British DVD, and I’ll be there.
