The wait has ended. The countdown has officially begun.

We now have our first look at the eighth film of the Star Wars Saga, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Premiered today as expected at Star Wars Celebration 2017 in Orlando, Florida, you could practically hear the Internet explode as the trailer hit YouTube as it was being streamed live at the convention.

Following up from 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the film - written and directed by Looper’s Rian Johnson - picks up directly where we left of with Rey (Daisy Ridley) meeting the legendary Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Also starring John Boyega (returning as Finn) and Oscar Issac (as everyone’s favorite space boyfriend, X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron), the excitement begins a new as the focus shifts more to our new generation of characters, and the original series starts to fade into the back.

We also received a gorgeous new poster, below.

So, what do you think of the trailer? Let’s be honest - we were all in for a ticket from the minute the credits rolled on The Force Awakens, but now we have even MORE to speculate about.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in theaters on December 15, 2017.
