As promised yesterday, the final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is here!

Premiered on Good Morning America, by way of corporate synergy, the hype is high for this one.

In case you’ve missed the backstory of the biggest sci-fi event movie of the year, Rogue One takes place before 1977’s A New Hope, and focuses on the team who stole the plans for the Death Star, which we all recall Princess Leia loading up on R2-D2 in the opening of that film.

The team is lead by the “rogue” Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), and includes Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), a rebel intelligence officer, Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), a blind Force master, ex-Imperial pilot Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), assassin Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen), and memory wiped Empire droid K2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk).

It’s a makeshift crew for a dangerous mission, and in their way is the evil, white-caped Director Krennic (Ben Mendlesohn), Darth Vader (of course), and a whole slue of Stormtroopers.

Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), the movie has had a bumpy road to the screen, but this December it finally arrives, and in this our third glimpse it is looking very, very good. This trailer focuses on Jyn’s motivation - between her father (played by Hannibal‘s Mads Mikkelsen), and her motley crew. This is probably the best glimpse of the film yet.
