You knew this was coming in time for the movie, right?

Announced on ABC during the Marvel’s Captain America: 75 Heroic Years TV special and confirmed by Marvel.com, Steve Rogers will no longer be the feeble old man he has been the past few years - he’s getting his powers back and returning as Captain America.

In his new series, Captain America: Steve Rogers, he’s got a new shield and a new outlook, but former Falcon Sam Wilson will remain on as Captain America as well.

Writer Nick Spencer - who is currently writing Captain America: Sam Wilson - will pen the title (both titles will exist concurrently), with artist Jesus Saiz assigned to the book. That’s his art at the top of the post.

It’s easy to believe this as a money grab to tie into the Captain America: Civil War film coming this May, but don’t worry…it’s actually to tie into the forthcoming Civil War II comic. OH BOY!

Captain America: Steve Rogers hits shelves this Summer.
