For months now, we at Blast-O-Rama have been criticizing the way that Warner Bros has been handling the development of the theatrical version of the DC Comics Universe - aiming to put the cart well before the horse, and developing a full on Justice League movie before giving the individual characters proper movie treatments.

Now that positive word has surfaced about the big Zack Snyder Superman reboot, Man of Steel (upon which the fate of Justice League has apparently hinged), the team at Latino Review has dropped a new video today, linked below, which makes some bold claims about the future of Justice League.

Before we go into it, let’s look at Latino Reviews track record - they nailed that Guardians of the Galaxy was next up for Marvel Studios, they seem to have nailed that Iron Man 3 ends with Tony in Space, but according to some denials last week, were wrong about the Planet Hulk claims.

However, this is what they say is happening with Justice League:

  • Christopher Nolan will be producing the film, taking over the development of ALL of the DC Universe films, a'la Joss Whedon at Marvel Studios or Mark Millar at Fox for the X-Men and Fantastic Four films.
  • Zack Snyder will be directing Justice League.
  • David Goyer, co-writer of the Batman films and writer of Man of Steel, will handle the scripts.
  • Christian Bale is being asked to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
I have to admit - I'd much rather they use Man of Steel as a launching pad for a new DCU, with a different Batman, and a less gritty/realistic feel for the movies (for as much as I love Nolan) - but doing so would add a necessary separation for the DC Comics movies from the live action comic feel of the Marvel Studios films.

Is any of it true? Will the Nolanverse take on the Whedonverse? Will Latino Review keep dishing out the truth? Stay tuned.
