Originally announced on Twitter by Christina Applegate, Paramount Pictures has confirmed that one of the funniest ladies in comedy right now will be joining the cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues.

Kristen Wiig, who is best known for her work on Saturday Night Live and 2011′s mega-hit Bridesmaids, will be joining the cast as the wife of Steve Carrell’s not-too-bright weatherman Brick Tamland.  Brick was one of the best characters of an already amazing film, and I cannot wait to see Wiig and Carrell play off each other. Should make for a hilarious element in a sure to be very fun film.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set for a December 20th, 2013 release.
