There’s little doubt in my mind that if the world were to end tomorrow, and aliens were to go back through our society, once they get to the part marked “Anime”, the thing that will be marked as the peak is Akira.

The 1988 film (and amazing manga series) still blows me away, all of these years later, and understandably has quite a following.

Not surprisingly, this has lead to inspire dozens of artists to do tributes over the years - the latest tribute (and the reason why I do this post) comes from artist Dan Sherratt.

He’s attacked many other films in the past (as you can see in his Flickr gallery), and now he takes on the visage of Kaneda in a limited run screen print.

This print has a run of 80, and will be available online tomorrow at 1pm EST right about here. The print will cost £30 (roughly $46US)  plus £5 UK Delivery or £10 International.

Check it out - and if you need some Akira jams, I think I have just the thing!
