Earlier this year, my dear, beloved friends at the Alamo Drafthouse and Mondo decided to put on the first ever Mondo Mystery Movie.

On April 15th, they held an exclusive screening of Akira to celebrate artist Tyler Stout’s birthday, and at the same time, released an exclusive poster to go alongside it.

The screening was so successful that they decided to do it again -the rules are simple, you don’t know the movie (they only give vague clues), you MUST come to the screening in Austin, and the cost for the print is included in the ticket cost.

The screening was tonight, so the poster has been unveiled to the web…

I give you the absolutely beautiful Mondo print for Jurassic Park.

This print from Aaron Horkey is actually the first in a series of Jurassic Park prints from Mondo (the second, to be revealed later, will be released closer to the film’s blu-ray release this October), and is an exclusive for only those who attended the second Mondo Mystery Movie.

I honestly feel this is one of Mondo’s greatest releases to date, and it’s a shame that we will not be able to order one traditionally (I’m sure you’ll be able to pay through the nose on eBay), but for those who got to go to tonight’s screening, what a treat.  I really love how studios like Universal are opening up the archives to Mondo, and as always, I cannot wait to see what they release next.
