Hard to believe it’s been three long years since Grindhouse hit theaters, and as Machete shined this weekend, another fake trailer is looking to become real as a homeless man hits the streets with a vengeance in…

Hobo With A Shotgun

Originally the winner of a Canadian contest to create a fake Grindhouse-style trailer, Hobo With A Shotgun is now a full, feature length film, and they even have Rutger Hauer as the titular hobo!

Be warned, the trailer is VERY NSFW, but goddamn, that looks like a great time in the theaters.

No set release date at this time, but MAN does this look like a blast!

There’s few things sadder for movie obsessive’s like myself than when a promising looking project is shelved.

Unfortunately, that was the fate for Pixar’s next big original project, Newt.

Originally set for a summer 2012 release, Newt was to be the tale of the last two blue-footed newt’s in existance, destined to mate…who disliked each other, immensely.

Set in the mix of a busy schedule for Pixar which includes Cars 2, Brave and Monsters Inc. 2, Newt ended up drawing the short straw, and was shelved earlier this year.

Not all is lost, however, as Disney decided to release a large amount of production artwork this weekend on Facebook for fans to see and dream about what could’ve been.

Who knows, maybe this will rekindle interest in the film.  The designs look unique enough to me, and after the 1-2 punch of Up and Wall-E, I would love to see more original Pixar films, less sequels, but I guess that’s the way the cookie crumbled.

I’m not sure there’s anything I enjoy more than superheroes juxtaposed with an alternative art style.

And if an artist has mixed comics and mod art better than Rogan Josh, I’ve yet to see it.

As a part of his modHero series, Josh has taken dozens of heroes, from the well known to the obscure, and turned them into brilliant mod art pieces, each perfectly encapsulating the hero featured.

I’ve included a gallery of some of my favorites below, but you really could lose hours pouring over his full archive, which I’ve linked below.  Josh does sell prints on occasion (follow his tumblr or facebook for more), and you better believe – next time he does, I’ll be buying a few!

Everyone’s favorite talk show set between two fake plants has returned, for an interview with Academy Award winning actor Sean Penn.

Unfortunately, the normal host, Zach Galifinakis, was unavailable for hosting this time around, but he found a rather suitable replacement.

Click play for all the awkward fun.
