You know, I thought with Iron Man 2 hitting theaters in FIFTEEN! days, I thought we were done with the posters.

I was wrong. We got another today, a really nice poster featuring the Mark V/Suitcase Suit armor, this time for the IMAX release of the film.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I love the look of this poster.

Iron Man 2 hits theaters in both standard and IMAX on May 7th. Be there or don’t!

YOUNG JUSTICE is GO!

Remember a few months back when a voice actor accidentally released details on a Young Justice animated series coming to Cartoon Network?

Earlier today Cartoon Network, alongside Warner Brothers Animation confirmed plans to produce a series based on the younger version of the Justice League of America, and the first official promotional image was released above.

Here’s what Cartoon Network had to say in their official press release on the series:

YOUNG JUSTICE is an all-new series produced by Warner Bros. Animation and based upon the characters from DC Comics. In YOUNG JUSTICE, being a teenager means proving yourself over and over – to peers, parents, teachers, mentors and, ultimately, to yourself. But what if you’re not just a normal teenager? What if you’re a teenage super hero? How much harder will it be to prove yourself in a world of super powers, super villains and super secrets? Are you ready to come of age in such a world? Are you ready for life or death rites of passage? Are you ready to join the ranks of the great heroes and prove you’re worthy of the Justice League? The members of Young Justice—Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis—are about to find out.

Loosely based on the comic book series of the same title, I’m hoping that the cartoon keeps the comic’s same feel of a light hearted, enjoyable fun romp with superheroes, mixed with just a touch of teen drama.  I’m not sure how I feel about the new Aqualad look or the random addition of the never before seen Miss Martian*, but with Superboy, Impulse (as Kid Flash), Robin and Artemis in the roster, the series should retain some of the feel of the 90′s comic.

No set premiere date was announced.

*As pointed out to me by my good friend Kevin, Miss Martian is actually an existing DCU character. Whoops!

If I were accosted on the street, and demanded what my favorite video game system of all time was, I’d say the Sega Dreamcast.  And while it wasn’t my favorite game for the system, one of my Dreamcast favs was the amazing tag team fighter Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

And while I enjoyed playing the re-release on XBLA, and playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom on my Wii, nothing has made me as excited as yesterday’s announcement that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is making it’s way to the XBox 360 and PS3 in 2011.

Set to feature 30+ characters, stunning graphics and – in a first – three on three gameplay, Capcom is going all out to make this game one for the ages.

So why am I still blabbing? Click play below for the reveal trailer!

Hold on to your butts, Mad Men fans!

If Mad Men creator Zach Weiner holds to what he said this week at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas, the show will be wrapping up at six seasons total.

While I, and I’m sure other fans, are somewhat disappointed that there is a set date in mind for the end of the show, I feel this may be the best decision, as it allows the creative team to write toward a definitive end of the series.

Either way, the end begins on July 25th, as Mad Men Season 4 premieres on that date.  I can’t wait to see what happens in the new world of Sterling Cooper Draper Price.

If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve already seen me drooling about this, but seriously, this is the coolest Threadless shirt in a while.

My Other Ride Is a Light Cycle - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Based (obviously) on the suits in the 1980′s classic Tron, this all over print doesn’t just look like the designs worn by Jeff Bridges and the gang, it even glows in the dark! The super awesome hoodie version even includes print for the helmet! How cool is THAT?

The issue (aside from it already selling out twice this week) – if you wear it at the Tron Legacy premiere, will your seat buddies be irritated by your glow in the dark threads? Food for thought.

It seems more and more lately that the My Poor Wallet section is designed simply for the latest creations from Hot Toys.

Honestly though, if they keep churning out the level of work they have, with the premium pricing at the same level (about $180 a figure), I have no issue featuring EVERYTHING they do.

The latest figures to join the list of things I want but sensibly will never have? Their figures of the Iron Man Mark IV armor, and the new big bad for Iron Man 2, Mickey Rourke as Whiplash.

Once again, each figure features the amazing sculpts, jaw-dropping detail and life like articulation you’ve come to expect from Hot Toys, and just looking through the photos, they alone should count as some sort of nerd porn.

Personally, I love the Mark IV figure, but I can’t wait to see what Hot Toys does with the Mark V (Suitcase) and Mark VI armors.  You know they’re coming.

One of my favorite things as a kid growing up reading comics was whenever the artist would get the opportunity to do cross section of the hero’s secret base, or a map of city.  Not only did it add additional detail to the world, this type of  information gave weight to the story, adding a sense of realism and fullness to the overall comics world.  That, and it reminded me of reading Richard Scarry books.

Unfortunately, in the modern era, these sort of images or documentation have been reduced to the pages of “Official Universe Guides”, or ignored entirely.

It seems I’m not the only one who poured hours over looking at these images, as there’s now an entire blog dedicated to them, entitled Comic Book Cartography.

There’s only 3 pages worth of content so far, but it’s still enough to kill an afternoon, and if updates remain steady, it’ll be a great resource for fans, artists and writers alike.  Well done, mystery blogger!

In addition to being the design team behind the layout of the first 3 volumes of the awesome comics anthology Popgun, the fine folks (folk?) at Fonografiks have done a stunning series of minimalist comic covers, in the style of old school dime-store novellas.

These covers are stunning, and really only underline how much the comics world is missing by not aiming for “understated” for most comics work.  But maybe I’m wrong.   Either way, you can view the whole series of covers at their DeviantArt page.
