So according to this story, which I stumbled upon via the fine folks at The Onion’s A.V. Club, Fox is planning on making a movie, built around the BABIES from the E*TRADE COMMERCIALS.

I…

Ugh.

There are THOUSANDS, if not MILLIONS of people at ANY GIVEN MOMENT who want to CREATE A FILM. And their stories DESERVE TO BE TOLD.

INSTEAD, YOU THINK, “THOSE BABIES FROM THE 30 SECOND COMMERICALS SURE CAN ANCHOR A FILM!”?!

Because, as we ALL SAW with the TWO EPISODE LONG run of the Geico Cavemen sitcom, THIS IS A BRILLIANT IDEA.

Fuck you, Fox.

It was only last night that I popped on here complaining about the poorly composed international poster for Iron Man 2, but it seems that the US is getting one which is just as bad. And this one doesn’t even feature the villains!  Exclusively premiered on MySpace (remember that site!), it just doesn’t do anything for me.

It’s a shame that after the REALLY great teaser poster that there haven’t been other posters which have been just as stunning/iconic, but I suppose not every movie can be The Dark Knight.

Let’s be honest though, the poster could be a piece of cardboard with I-EARN MAYUHN TOO written on it in poop, and we’d still pack theaters on May 7th. Maybe a great, memorable poster is now a thing of the past.

I’m a big fan of Rachel Weisz, especially after her turns in The Brothers Bloom and The Fountain. I’m also a huge fan of the Daniel Craig starring James Bond reboot series.

So with this rumor, it sounds like I’m going to get a movie combination of Reese’s cup style awesome.

As the rumor goes, the third James Bond film in this latest series will feature 007 finally taking on the evil group known as Quantum.  And we’ll find out who has been putting the screws to Bond his entire career.  The twist? It’s going to be a strong, domineering woman – played by Rachel Weisz.

Honestly, I think it’d be brilliant casting with an actress who can more than live up to the role.  What better way to subvert the decades of James Bond style sexism than by having the new villain be a woman herself?

I’m all for it – should the rumor pans out.  But as MGM is currently seeking a buyer, any Bond rumors are just that…rumors. So we shall see if in 2012 it’s Weisz vs. Craig.
