Say what you will about Tim Burton’s career, but he has proven time and time again that he is pretty good at adapting other’s work.

Sure, he didn’t do the best job with Planet of the Apes, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, and I haven’t seen his more action-y take on Alice in Wonderland, but he did great work with Batman, Pee Wee Herman, Mars Attacks! and Sweeney Todd.

So it should come as little surprise that Burton’s overseeing another adaptation of a classic property.

This time – it’s going to be a 3D, stop motion take on The Addams Family.  This version won’t be based on the classic TV series or the successful 90s films, but instead the original cartoons, putting it even more so in Burton’s wheelhouse.

Honestly, I don’t think there’s a better man for the job – but really, when are we going to get the next great Burton original?  Or is that a long lost pipedream?

EDIT – March 19, 11:50am – Sayeth MTV’s Movie Blog, Burton isn’t doing Addams Family. Boo.

Ok, they aren’t quite “Legos”, but they certainly aren’t some cheap ass MegaBlocks!

But what they are is the culimination of a boyhood dream.  Imagine, if there were Lego Transformers when I was a kid, I probably would have been even more of an anti-social nerd than I am today!

But these great Transformers uh…building blocks, called “Diablocks” will be hitting Japan in April, and are available for pre-order in Optimus Prime and Bumblebee flavors for $34 and $28 each, roughly.

Get your credit cards ready and live out a nerdy dream – building blocks that transform into vehicles which transform into freakin’ robots!

This past weekend gave us the first sneak peak at Predators, and now, thanks to IGN, we have the full length trailer.

It’s a well cut, well paced trailer giving us just content to get excited, and keeps enough things hazy that you don’t feel like you know how the whole move is going to play out.

So enough babbling from me – click play and get hyped for July 7th!
