One of Summer 2008′s bigger surprises was the Jason Siegel starring, Judd Apatow produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Aside from showing us Jason’s peen and being one of the funnier films in years, it served as the American break out role for Russell Brand, who played the infamous Aldous Snow.
So, it stands to reason that Aldous Snow will be returning to the screen, and it’ll happen this Summer with Get Him To The Greek.
The film revolves around Jonah Hill’s character (not the same as the one he portrayed in Sarah Marshall), who is a record company intern assigned with the job of taking Snow out of England and getting him to his comeback show at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.
As can be expected, as it’s a film after all, shenanigans ensue.
The trailer looks like a lot of fun, allowing Brand to completely envelop the screen with his style of insanity.
Breaking news coming out of the X10 press event (a press event being held by Microsoft for forthcoming XBox 360 games) has given us the official release date for Dead Rising 2.
Dead Rising 2, the sequel to the massive zombie fighting game from Capcom which arguably sold some of the first XBox 360′s, will be hitting shelves on August 31st.
With literally months remaining until Toy Story 3 hits theaters, it comes as no surprise that Disney is ramping up the excitement by unleashing the full “story” trailer today.
The past trailers have been mere hints towards the story, more a refresher course on the characters we’ve come to love over the past 2 installments, but now the story is laid out for us all, including that we will be introduced to a whole slue of new characters.
Over the past few years, design group tokidoki has been building quite a fanbase with assorted apparel, accessories and even vinyl toys showcasing their unique visual aesthetic.
So now that they’ve announced that they’re pairing up with Marvel, not only am I excited to see the results, but I absolutely adore the way they combined their unique style with classic Marvel characters.
The full line of merchandise is scheduled to be released February 25th, but before that happens, they’ve released images of the shirts, hoodies and cap they intend to release, showcased in the gallery below.
I may actually be inclined to nab a shirt or two myself, depending on the final pricing, but I can’t deny, this stuff is awesome! Although really – I could go for a line of vinyl figures in this style.
The ongoing saga of Sony’s reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise continued today as Sony officially announced that the next film will be shot in 3D!
It’s a big step for director Marc Webb, who if he didn’t have enough pressure having his first major studio film be the latest Spider-Man film, now has to shoot it in 3D.
Will it work out? We’ll know in just over 2 years, as Sony also announced the release date for the untitled Spidey film – July 3rd, 2012.
You know, I really want to get excited about the film adaptation of Avatar, The Last Airbender, but I’ve yet to have reason to.
Between the whitewashed casting, fans themselves being unimpressed, and now, this full trailer feeling kind of wooden, I’m still not seeing this as a big success.
Honestly, click play on the just released full trailer above, and tell me you aren’t getting odd flashbacks to the Kangaroo kung fu film . Just make Aang a kangaroo, and there we go…
Fresh from the snowy tundras of Charm City, comes the latest collection of awesome things you should add to your nerdy collections!
Unfortunately, if you’re feeling the effects of Snowpocalypse, it’s probably going to be pretty difficult to get out there to pick them up. Luckily, each item is linked to their respective Amazon.com listing, so they can come to you! Once mail service starts again, that is…
I’ve had the pleasure of watching (and rewatching) this film several times on blu-ray over the past few days, and I think it’s safe to say that this truly is Woody Harrelson’s best role, but if you want a really hysterical way to watch this film, watch it back to back with Adventureland. Act as if Zombieland is it’s sequel (given that Jesse Eisenberg gives similar performances in both), and it makes for an interesting pairing. Loved this movie, the best “post-zombie” film since Shaun of the Dead. Check it out now.
Back when I first got my XBox 360, Bioshock was THE game which sold me on this generation of systems. Amazing art direction, solid gameplay and a stunning story, there was, and truly has yet to be, anything else like it on the market. This week, the long awaited sequel hits shelves, and instead of reinventing the wheel, the developers made the smart move of not attempting to top the story, but instead add nuance to the world of Rapture. Plus, for the hardcore gamers, they added the sweet touch of some well paced multiplayer gaming. All and all you have what people are calling the Game of the Year…this month.
Back in the year of our lord 2006, Marvel published one of the greatest comics ever. Written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Stuart Immonen, the superhero team book slaying Nextwave was simply put, one of the most fun reads to come out of Marvel in years, and even to date. Unfortunately, it was more a cult hit than anything else, and ran only 12 issues. But now, Marvel has collected all 12 issues into one solid trade. So if you’ve never read it before, your excuses are minimal now. With a cover price of $35, and an Amazon price of just about $23, it’s worth literally every single penny. Go get it.
Until next time, from the world of endless white death, that’s the latest edition of….Awesome-O-Rama!
