Man, the floodgate is just opening on info for the forthcoming The First Avenger: Captain America. I swear, we don’t already know this much about Thor, and that’s already started shooting!
The latest info is that the Avengers flick won’t be the first time we see Captain America as a team, as his solo film will also feature The Invaders.
For those unawares, The Invaders are a group of international heroes, sort of a pre-Avengers set in World War II, with characters such as the original Human Torch, the UK’s Union Jack and even Namor the Sub Mariner.
They’ve yet to announce who will be making up The Invaders, but I’d imagine it’ll be more of the b-listers than say, Torch and Namor, but it’s another example of Marvel Studios playing proper fanservice, which is a very exciting move.
My biggest worry – might this be just too much for one film?

Actually, using Namor and Human Torch I would be a brilliant move for Marvel. If they showed up in say the Fantastic Four movies, Fox gets the rights to the characters for other movie appearances and merchandising.
If Marvel Studios gets to it first? They’re writing the contracts.
The part I’m unsure of is if the rights to Human Torch are tied up with the Fox deal (technically different characters, but I don’t know how the contracts are written), and if the Fantastic Four licensing deal for Fox covers the whole FF universe – is Namor a part of it as well?
Not to mention, as I asked – would such well known heroes hurt or help the Captain America film?
