VGA didn&#039;t exist in 1984, that didn&#039;t come along until 1987. VGA was also specific to the PC architecture, whereas Atari had 256 colors on their GTIA chipped 400/800 computer series in 1981. The Roland MT-32 synth didn&#039;t exist until &#039;87 as well, although the Atari ST series had full MIDI capability in 1985. Also, it was VCS for &quot;Video Computer System&quot;, which is what the console was called until 1982, when it got assigned Part Number CX2600 (the CX5200 or 5200 Super System came out that year).

I learned to program on the Atari 8-bit series and consoles, so I still know all this by rote.</description>
