Not sure what Horns is? It’s the latest release by author Joe Hill, due to hit shelves on February 16th.

Here’s the synopsis:

“We are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.” –– Oscar Wilde

Proceed with caution.  HORNS dead ahead.

Ignatius Martin Perrish spent the night drunk and doing terrible things.  He woke the next morning with a headache, put his hands to his temples, and felt something unfamiliar, a pair of knobby pointed protuberances.  He was so ill––wet-eyed and weak––he didn’t think anything of it at first, was too hung-over for thinking or worry.  But when he was swaying above the toilet, he glanced at himself in the mirror over the sink and saw he had grown horns while he slept. He lurched in surprise, and for the second time in twelve hours he pissed on his feet.

So begins a twisted, terrifying new novel of psychological, supernatural suspense called HORNS (William Morrow; On Sale February 16; 2010; Hardcover; $25.99; ISBN: 978-0-06-114795-1), from Joe Hill, the bestselling author of Heart-Shaped Box.

The second son of a renowned musician and doting mother, and the younger brother of a late-night TV star, Ig Perrish had a privileged life and expectations of a bright future with his childhood sweetheart, Merrin Williams.  But his seemingly perfect life takes an unexpected and horribly dark turn when Merrin is brutally murdered and suspicion falls hard on Ig.

A year passes, but Ig is nowhere near over his grief or his rage––feelings that come to a head in a lost evening of drinking and hate.  When he awakes the next morning he discovers that he has undergone a surreal transformation, and is in possession of an incredible power.  Everyone he encounters has the uncontrollable urge to tell him things about their innermost desires and intentions, and whenever Ig touches someone, he instantly knows their darkest secrets.  It isn’t long before he turns his terrible new abilities towards vengeance.  Unfortunately Ig is about to learn that when it comes to revenge, the devil is in the details …

HORNS is one of the most original and deliciously frightening novels of the supernatural anyone is bound to read this year.

Sounds like a heck of a read, yes?  All you need to do to get a copy, just leave a comment on this post, and come Monday, February 15th, I’ll choose 2 winners.  Feel free to enter as many times as you like! US Residents only, please!

Ask anyone the 2 best things to come from the world of Star Wars over the past 10 years, and they’d probably answer the Lego Star Wars games and the Clone Wars television series. Both of them.

So it stands to reason that these two great tastes would taste great together.

Ergo, it isn’t a major surprise that Travelers Tale Games, who created all of the Lego games thus far, have announced a 3rd Lego Star Wars game for this Fall.

Titled Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, the game will take the super fun Lego Star Wars world and combine it with the beloved Cartoon Network CGI series.  Personally, I’ve loved all of the Lego Star Wars games thus far, along with Lego Batman, so I think this will be an absolute blast of a game.  Here’s hoping it isn’t just a rehash of the first two games in the series however – I mean, are there really any worlds/sequences that haven’t been covered?

We’ll find out when Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars hits the 360, Wii, PS3, DS and PSP this fall.

The first video game system I owned as a kid was an Atari 2600, with about 13 games, which my parents bought at a flea market.

So when I came upon this blog from Penney Design, who have designed a series of fake 2600 game boxes for modern licensed properties, I totally nerded out.

The above Lost cover is but one of the many great designs on the blog.  They’ve created boxes for other properties such as Wall-E, The Dark Knight, Avatar and Cloverfield, amongst others.

Go check them out, they are SUPER well done!

So you may recall, last summer, it was officially announced (sort of, by me) that DVDs of the beloved MTV cartoon Daria would finally be released.

It’s been quite a few months since that announcement, but we finally have more details, and yes, a release date.

The release will include all five seasons of the series, plus the two full length movies, and hit shelves on May 11, 2010.

The extras have been details as well, as thus:

-Pilot – Sealed With a Kick
-Music Video: Mystik Spiral Music Video “Freakin’ Friends”
-Daria Day Intros
-Top Ten Video Countdown Hosted by Daria & Jane
-Cast & Crew Interviews
-Never Before-Seen Mystik Sprial spin-off script

I know a lot of people are as excited to see this as I was to see DVDs of The State, so hopefully this news has some of you ecstatic on this very snowy Monday.

You know, I like to think of myself as pretty cued into what’s going on in Hollywood, but I had zero clue that Universal was working on a prequel to the John Carpenter classic The Thing (which, in and of itself, was a remake of a film from the 50′s).

Filming is scheduled to start in mid-March, with Joel Edgerton (Kinky Boots, Smoking Aces) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Live Free or Die Hard) as the leads, but honestly – is there an audience for this?

I know that the film is a beloved cult classic, but the Carpenter original bombed at the box office back in the 80s.  It seems more and more to me that studios are wanting to take less risks on new films, and instead retrofit new ideas to known titles – and that worries me.

In an interview with the UK publication The Daily Mail, Bill Murray dropped a pretty big bombshell regarding his role in Ghostbusters 3.

Not only will Murray be returning, but…it’ll be in a rather unique way.

Here’s how he says it:

I said to them, ‘I’ll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.’ So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film.

So there you go – Bill’ll be in Ghostbusters 3…but he’ll be a ghost.

Works for me!

Man, the floodgate is just opening on info for the forthcoming The First Avenger: Captain America.  I swear, we don’t already know this much about Thor, and that’s already started shooting!

The latest info is that the Avengers flick won’t be the first time we see Captain America as a team, as his solo film will also feature The Invaders.

For those unawares, The Invaders are a group of international heroes, sort of a pre-Avengers set in World War II, with characters such as the original Human Torch, the UK’s Union Jack and even Namor the Sub Mariner.

They’ve yet to announce who will be making up The Invaders, but I’d imagine it’ll be more of the b-listers than say, Torch and Namor, but it’s another example of Marvel Studios playing proper fanservice, which is a very exciting move.

My biggest worry – might this be just too much for one film?
