Hands down, one of my favorite albums this year was The Decemberists’ The Hazards of Love.

A rather epic folk rock opera, with a story so tangled and twisted that I couldn’t really describe it without going on for pages, the album grabbed me both from an aural sense, but from a storytelling sense.

With that said, it really goes without saying that I am super excited to hear that Colin Meloy and the gang have given their thumbs up to an animated version of the album, to be titled Here Come the Waves: The Hazards of Love Visualized.

Due to premiere exclusively on iTunes on December 1, the film features segments animated by filmmakers Guilherme Marcondes, Julia Pott, Peter Sluszka and Santa Maria.

I’ve embedded the trailer above, but seriously, can’t we get a blu-ray of this?

Oh internet, may you never cease to mong rumors.

As you may remember, it was just a few days ago that the internet was all a twitter about Rachel McAdams playing The Black Cat in Spider-Man 4.

Then the interweb was all like “Nah brah, It’s totally gonna be Julia Stiles”.

And now, again, the rumor has changed, as it looks like Anne Hathaway is going to be suiting up in the uh…catsuit?

Either way, it sounds win win to me, as I dig Hathaway, but I dunno if I can see her in the action role. The closest she’s come is Get Smart, and even then, she was more a pretty face.

I guess no matter what, we’re gonna have Black Cat in Spider-Man 4, now let’s just hope they can figure out who’s gonna play her before May 6, 2011.

Ok, I have to admit, that was a bit more mean of a headline that I should give this book, because it’s really cool looking.

Spiraling out of his recent exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, the above hardcover tome The Art of Tim Burton collects literally hundreds of illustrations over 434 pages, covering his career from it’s beginning to the present day.

The book is available in both a standard format and super sexy special edition, and I’ve embedded a gallery of images from the book below.

Dig it!
