Ok, so…maybe Reynolds has his heart in the right place when it comes to the movie adaptation of Deadpool.
It’s been pretty obvious since the release of X-Men Origins: Wolverine that Ryan Reynolds has been asking for a mea culpa from the nerd audience, especially now that the standalone Deadpool movie was green-lit.
But this quote, coming from Empire Online, is probably the best key so-far that he gets it.
“Break the fourth wall? Oh yeah, he’s got to. I want to see him break the Great Wall.”
As any fan of Deadpool knows, the character is always aware that he’s in a comic book (see the image above). Now you tell me that Reynolds’ version of the Merc-With-A-Mouth is going to be aware that he’s in a film?
Sounds awesome. Maybe they can use the super rad abandoned design for his in-movie look, too…
