Oh wow.
Ever since I heard this flick was premiering at Sundance late last year, I’ve been sitting on pins and needles waiting for the first footage to surface of Patton Oswalt’s debut in Big Fan.
And now that the trailer is here (conveniently embedded above), I think it’s going to blow away any of my preconceived notions of what it would be.
Sure, I had a feeling given that it’s the directorial debut of Robert Siegel, he who wrote The Wrestler, that it would be something special…but this looks like a downright stunning portrayal of fandom gone horribly wrong.

Funny you ask. It just was announced today that the special, titled My Weakness Is Strong is going to air on Comedy Central on August 23rd, and hit DVD on August 25th.
Add Big Fan set to hit theaters (probably NY/LA, but whatever) on August 28th, I call it…PATTON WEEK.
