From a very much in love with the source material standpoint:
The air temples being on ground level completely takes away from their airy design from the series.
WAAAY too much focus on the Aang-fu. He’s not supposed to be Bruce Lee. He’s more Gandalf in his attack style.
A plus, though, is that the Fire Nation fleet looks good.
From a storyteller’s perspective, if I try to pretend that I’m not in love with the original format: How much story does this teaser really tell? I give it a tip of the hat for realizing a good way to show airbending (as the animation had easy shortcuts for that). But really, again, it’s only giving us a taste of the story of a kung fu kid, and that’s not really what the story is about.
Show us Aang flying with Appa, or just the fleet, or anything that hints to the story that people actually liked?
