As I’ve said to quite a few friends of mine in real life, I’m thinking after the non-stop blockbuster fest of the Summer of 2008, 2009 will be a summer of sleeper films.

I’m pretty darn sure that Public Enemies will be one of these flicks.

I mean, from the onset of the plot, Johnny Depp as legendary mobster John Dillinger being chased by FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale)…how can you go wrong?

The first trailer was attached to Watchmen in March, and while the flick looks awesome, the digitally shot look is somewhat jarring for a 1920′s era piece.

Either way, I’m getting excited for Public Enemies‘ release on July 1st, and the trio of new posters above certainly is helping.

I’ve embedded the trailer below…what do you think?

Tonight (actually, currently) is the season finale of Lost.

So of course, we Abrams addicts are going to be needing something to fill the time between now and next January while we wait for Lost’s Sixth and Final Season.

How about a version of the infamous Doomsday Terminal where you have to input a series of numbers, every 108 minutes?!

You get to be Desmond by way of your iPhone!

What could possibly go wrong?!

Doomsday Terminal is available now via the iTunes App Store.

I’ve found what would make The Wire better!

I know, that statement is blasphemy in some circles of the web, but really, this is THE thing that the Charm City serial was missing…A LAUGH TRACK.

Way to go, HBO. You could’ve grabbed middle America with this.

Sure, we’ve all heard the stories about how Back to the Future originally starred Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly before Michael J. Fox took over in what would become his signature role. But now I’m here to give you a glimpse of another alternate Back to the Future that did not see the light of day…

Now, I’ve always loved the posters above. Iconic. Spoofed dozens of times.  And as a Marty myself, I’ve always been very interested in the series… But that image of Marty with the delorian? NOT Universal’s first choice. BEHOLD…ALTERNATE VERSIONS OF THE BACK TO THE FUTURE POSTER!

All I can say is…they’re SUPER 80s.
