I had heard some rumors that this was in development, but I kind of shrugged them off, given that Harmonix was busy developing The Beatles: Rock Band.

Surprise surprise, Lego: Rock Band is not only real, but will be available this fall.  Initially when I heard the rumors, I immediately figured “Eh, I’ll wait for it to hit the bargain bin”…

Then I read this section of the announcement…

The teen and tween geared game boasts some of these tunes: Blur’s “Song 2″, Carl Douglas’ “Kung Fu Fighting”, Europe’s “The Final Countdown”, Good Charlotte’s “Boys and Girls” and Pink’s “So What”.

Song 2?! THE FINAL COUNTDOWN?! I am freaking there DAY ONE.

Here’s hoping that the songs from both this, and The Beatles: Rock Band, are importable to Rock Band 2.  My band Unemployed Galactus needs to get it’s Europe on!
