You can’t say Paramount doesn’t take advantage of a good situation.

With 3+ months to go until Transformers 2: We Swear It’s Good This TimeRevenge of the Fallen hits theaters, they’ve ALREADY ANNOUNCED that Transformers 3 will hit theaters on July 1st, 2011.

While this may seem like an early bet, July 2011′s Summer movie slate is already getting quite filled, with Harry Potter & The Deathly Hollows: Part II and The First Avenger: Captain America already set to hit the silver screen that month.

Is this too early for Paramount to scope out a 3rd Autobot flick? Or are they right in presuming a trilogy is a GREAT idea?  We’ll find out on June 24th.

I swear, I’m a step away from writing a bad Seinfeld routine, as all I can ask myself is “Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?”

After 17 Years of being titled The Sci Fi Channel, the science fiction network which has been home to a diverse selection of programming (from early showings of anime and the comic book show The Anti-Gravity Room, to the popular remake of Battlestar Galactica, and even WWE programming such as ECW) will be rebranding on July 7th to the newly titled…Syfy.

Sayeth the “ad wizards”, the term “sci fi” is too limiting to the breadth of programming available on the network, so apparently going phonetic will clarify that they have more to offer.

More importantly, however, is that “Sci Fi” isn’t copyrightable, so expect a lot of silly Syfy branded things moving forward.

In related news, I am now to be known as Mahtee Dae.
