Start Your New Year With A Kick To The Balls…IT’S CRANK 2!
Wow.
Here I thought CRANK was the silliest, most over the top, ballsy movie ever.
But evidently, the creators REALLY want to out do themselves this time, as seen in the first VERY NOT SAFE FOR WORK trailer for CRANK 2. What do I think? I don’t even know, man. After watching this, I think I need a good sit down.

Oh My God. LEGO HOTH.

There are no words.
Click that link, and look at these photos.
It’d make mine (and any one else’s) holiday, if this ends up under my tree.
Holy Crap.

Real Life Superheroes?
One of my delights every month is the latest issue of Rolling Stone.
Aside from still relevant musical coverage (hear that, Pitchfork? it’s called integrity), every month, each issue is filled with facinating articles that have little to do with the music world, but still grab and keep the readers attention.
THIS is one of those articles.
Not too surprisngly, the topic grabbed me fast – Real Life Superheroes. But this isn’t in the way of everyday police are heroes, or anything like that…these are real people who have considered themselves superheroes, and have the costumes (and twisted lives) to prove it.
As soon as I read it, I knew that I’d want to share it with you…and luckily, Rolling Stone put it up to day.
Kick your feet up, and enjoy the read.

Free Comic Book Day Comics Announced!
I’m not gonna lie, I know Christmas is just around the corner, but I’m already getting excited for NERD Christmas.
What is NERD Christmas, you ask? Why it’s FREE FREAKIN’ COMIC BOOK DAY, which will be held on May 2nd for 2009.
The past few years of Free Comic Book Day have been very good to me…giving me the first taste of The Umbrella Academy and Atomic Robo, plus some free Scott Pilgrim action. Not to mention, most comic shops tend to throw some great bargins out to hook the new audience they build that day. So to say that I’m looking forward to next years? A bit of an understatement.
Luckily, Diamond wants to hook the nerds in early and often, so they’ve ALREADY announced the comics for this year’s FCBD.
What looks good? The Green Lantern: Blackest Night prelude could be rad, featuring the birth of the “Dark Lanterns”, literally zombie versions of the Lantern Corp. Also, Red 5 Comics has me with their release of Atomic Robo & Friends. Finally, who can hate on a free FCBD2009 Minimate? I know I sure can’t!
Mark your 2009 calendars geeks, dweebs and weirdos! Our day is coming! And the comics: they are free.

GI JOE Posters Revealed!
Welp, we now have an OFFICIAL, crystal clear look at some of the cast of the GI Joe movie, as Paramount released a group of 4 character posters.
The posters depict Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Channing Tatum as Duke, Sienna Miller as Baroness and Marlon Wayans as Rip-Curl.
My big question though…what’s with all the character headshot posters these days?
The Christmas SPIRIT Is In The Air With These Clips
Welp, yesterday, I brought a hyperbolic, angry review of The Spirit.
Today, I bring actual footage, with 6 clips straight from YouTube.
Does this showcase how bad the movie is? Or is it enough to get you in the theaters on Christmas Day?
I’ll say this…I have a weakness for ScarJo in the cat-eye glasses.
Sound off in the comments!
Survey Says…THE SPIRIT IS…
Awesome?
Nope, no wrong, decidedly NOT AWESOME, or so says this review posted over at AICN today.
In fact, THE SPIRIT might be so bad that it transcends awful, into hilarity.
We shall see on December 25th though, if it’s all true.
I mean, honestly, how can a movie with lines like “I’m Gonna Kill You All Kindsa Dead!” or “GET ME A TIE AND IT DAMN WELL BETTER BE RED!” be awful?
Oh. Very awful. My bad.

Gonna try to make this a Monday thing.
Things that are awesome, and why.
Hey guys, you know what’s awesome?

Hey guys!
You know what else is awesome?
BRUTAL LEGEND!
Haven’t heard of it? Well, it’s this sweet action-RPG due out next year. Featuring Jack Black as voice talent, it’s set in a world where metal is king. And super serious.

More Japanese McDonald’s Love
You may have noticed a bizarre trend here at Blast-O-Rama. We really LOVE McDonald’s Japan.
I’ve gone on record before, as a child – big fan of McDonalds. As an adult? Not so much (although I get a craving 1-2 times a year).
But there’s something very intrigiung to me about an intensely American corporation such as McDonald’s and how their menu is reconfigured, changed, or even in some cases, completely thrown out when it’s brought over to the land of the rising sun.
Despite the documentation of some of the surreal foodstuffs available in the Nippon McD’s, there hasn’t been a comprehensive look at the McDonald’s Japan menu.
UNTIL NOW.
You can thank the fine folks at Tofugu.com for this one.
How sad is it that if I ever make it to Japan, I’ll just have to experience McDonald’s Japan for myself?
