As the clock ticks closer to the February premiere of BET’s animated rendition of Marvel’s Black Panther, we’ve all been wondering…who will provide the powerful pipes to the enigmatic african adventurer?

It’s a mystery no-more, as B-Panth (as the trades call him) will be voice by none other than Djimon Hounsou (known as Digimon Hounsou, to his friends).

Fresh off of a starring role in the we-swear-it’s-not-Heroes flick Push, I think Hounsou’s a great choice for the role.

Even if I can’t help but think of him yelling “GIVE US US FREE” in Amistad.

You probably noticed a far, far heavier post count today. than what you’ve seen in the past.

You might be asking: “Why?”, or more likely, you don’t care, but hey, let’s presume you do.

It’s all Ross Nover’s fault.  Or, more accurately, the fault of QuickPost, or as I’ve deemed it, the best WordPress plugin ever.

With it, I’m able to post almost instantaneously onto Blast-O-Rama, allowing me to share with almost shocking speed, whatever I’m nerding out about on the web.

As that was the main intent of this blog, it’s now better than ever.

If you think it’s a bit much…well, again, blame Ross.

Drop your thoughts on this, and well, any other story I post, in the comments.

Set the lights down low for this pair of character posters from JJ Abrams’ “reimagining” of the Star Trek franchise.

Once again, I’m still not sure the mood they’re aiming for with this new version of Trek, and these new posters throw me off even more, considering how just a few weeks ago, Abrams’ was telling Entertainment Weekly that they were going for a “positive, uplifting” version of the space-saga.

Guess we’ll see when Star Trek hits screens on May 8th.

To help clean out the bad taste of the last post, how about some Chuck news?

*crickets*

Ok…Ok. I understand.

Well, I’m excited, anyway!

Here’s the deal.  Chuck, aka the best show you’re apparently not watching on Monday nights, gets to share the post-Super Bowl spot on February 1st with The Office.

As if that wasn’t enough reason to keep your TV on NBC after the two teams pummel each other for America’s affection, the episode will be in 3-D!!!

No word on the number of teenagers who will experience manhood upon the three-dimentional visage of Sarah.

I Hope Everyone Involved With This Movie Gets Into A Firey Carwreck Movie

Ugggggh.

Why Hollywood? Why?

I know a certain someone who’s going to love reading about this…

While it’s ultimately a footnote in an interview exploring Mignola’s excitement over the Hellboy II DVD, what’s coming up for him comic wise, and he and his daughter’s conflicting opinions of Twilight, Mignola does make special mention of his forthcoming film project with David Goyer (Batman Begins, Blade III).

The catch? It’s an old school vampire flick. Here’s what Mikey had to say.

I prefer an old-school vampire. I co-wrote an old-shcool vampire novel with Christopher Golden [called Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire], and we’ve been struggling with a screen adaptation of it. We’re trying to make an old school vampire movie. But the problem is that if nobody’s made one in the last five years – nobody wants to make one.

Allow me if you will to share my opinion on the Terminator series.

-The Terminator: Awesome
-Terminator 2: Judgement Day: All Time Classic
-Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines: Never bothered watching.
-Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles:  Found the pilot boring, but I hear it’s gotten much much better.

In any case, I’ve been pretty reserved about Terminator Salvation.  But now that I’ve seen some of the production images (in the video linked below), combined with seeing Christian Bale as the lead…I’m…slight more optimistic?

Either way, I’m hoping it’s good. Because as it stands right now, after Summer 2008 being so kick ass, all I’ve really got to look forward to in ’09 is Up and Harry Potter 6.

Blending classic movie, cartoon and comic properties with the super-popular style of vinyl toys, I think it’s safe to say that Hasbro’s Mighty Muggs has been a hit for children of all ages.

(My TV is currently guarded by Spidey, Iron Man, Venom and Wolverine, for example).

In any case, the Muggs expand their cuteness empire into 2009 with the first wave of Transformers Mighty Muggs.

Honestly, who can say no to the cuteness portrayed by Bumblebee (above)?  And I’ll be damned if that isn’t a huggable version of Soundwave.
