		<description>Here's what I've gathered...

WB has been working on a Sandman movie since the mid 90's, even having a script co-written by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary (which is how the two ended up working together on Beowulf).

The script got rewritten many times since, with the most recent draft being "flat out horrible", according to Gaiman, and he was quoted at SDCC last year as saying he'd rather have NO Sandman movie than a bad one.

Don't fret entirely, however, as Gaiman is directing(!) and writing(!) a movie version of Death: The High Cost of Living. The flick is scheduled to be produced by Guillermo Del Toro, and Gaiman spent a few days on the set of Hellboy 2 to catch some pointers in directing.

Not sure when we'll see that, as work kind of hit the wall due to the writers strike, but I'd imagine it'd be in the next 2 years or so. Maybe that'll lead to a proper Sandman film.</description>
